The End is Nigh

Last week was our final exhibition, and it went quite well if  do say so myself!

We managed to attract quite a few of the tutors and several students we hadn't met before, so it was nice to meet some new students.

We'd arranged different areas to our expo, including one to advertise our course at Huddersfield. Showing a slide show of work done but our fellow students, the process of the end of year photo-shoot, and a short guided tour of around the University Campus and some of the buildings around town.

We also displayed some of the previous 'Sample' books, which they were all very interested in looking through!

My photography tutor, Gaby was very happy with my photographs much to my relief! And was asking us lots of questions about Huddersfield and the English cheeses which we'd brought for the occasion!

 The Director also attended, and gave us some ideas for later work and named artists he thought we'd be interested in.

All in all we had a fun night, with our foreign friends turning up, and us having a good chat and a drink with our tutors and other members of staff. 

  

Polishing Up

So, finally our exhibition has arrived!

My last project was specialised in Black and White Photography. Which I have absolutely adored. This year has been brilliant, finally I have had the time to think, look and experiment.

Not having to worry about another 100 things for uni! *siiiiigh*

This time I have been looking at movement, and breaking down each step that makes that movement. Looking at the ordinary and stopping a moment in time. Some times I took a series of quick photographs, breaking up a movement. Other times I have overlapped them and used a double exposure, or used one single photograph to capture a special moment.

So all that's left to do is our expo!

So, This month ERBA had an open day, and they really went all out!

They had doors all over the campus! Hanging from the ceiling, coming out of the ground, coming out of walls - it was amazing!

So, I shall stop wittering and let the pictures do the talking.

So we had our deadline for our first personal project at the end of January, which went pretty well. Our tutors were really encouraging which is well.. encouraging!

Here are some photos from my project, although what with the red table it all looks very RED!

Should look good when we exhibit all of our work at the end of the year.

Wrapping Up For Christmas

So the year is beginning to come to an end, and Christmas is on its way!

Besançon town centre is beautiful, the streets are all lit up and little roast chestnut stalls are popping up everywhere. 

We've got a very busy few weeks coming up, what with the girls' exhibition and lots of Christmassy events! We've had trips to local Christmas markets, and sampled just a few *ahem* cups of hot spiced wine. 

We visited Dijon the other day with Alison and Emma. So strange to see it all dressed for winter! I've visited Dijon so many times throughout my life, its now become a family favourite! But I've never been in the winter before. Still beautiful though!

We were invited by Rosalind to have a tour of another collage she teaches at. It's actually a cheese making collage, where some study to make cheese, and others the scientific research.

It was so interesting to see such a different kind of collage. The students were all friendly and hospitable and we've made some good friends there. Plus were were given free samples of Comte, so I aint complaining!

In our last week we had a big Raclette party at the Beaux Art, and invited all our friends. It was so interesting to have a room full of international students all sharing a meal and wine together.Perfect
